Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull have graciously offered to do a reception/sound check concert/hang with the band to support conservation. Our goal is to raise $8,000.

The event will be June 5 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm in the Ritter Lounge at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts (http://www.sjcc.com/cftpa/index.html)

In Ian's words "This will be a very private "Jethro Tull Soundcheck Party" at about 4 p.m. where I will meet and greet guests for about an three quarters of an hour, after which we will take them through to watch soundcheck - a daily ritual involving the checking of sound levels and technical details where we usually perform three or four pieces of music from the show.

The whole soundcheck lasts about one hour and though moderately routine for us, usually is considered fascinating by any fortunate (or unfortunate) individuals who might (rarely) be present. Afterwards, back for drinks in the Ritter Lounge at the venue for meet and greet with the band. Maximum 75 guests will be made to feel good and make a valuable contribution to an important feline conservation fund which I, and Tull fans, have previously supported."

The Cause

Ian Anderson and respected cat conservationist Charles Knowles have funded some early research work on the Andean Mountain Cat through Dawn Simas and her organisation, Wild About Cats. http://www.wildaboutcats.org/andean.htm . Jethro Tull fans have also made generous donations to this cause in the past.

The researcher, Mauro Lucherini, has recently made some important progress which will allow the project to ramp up and for which Mauro's team needs an additional $8,000.

Our goal at the Tull soundcheck Party is to raise these funds.

Help out the Little Guys and bring a little more pussycat back to nature. I hope to see the few, the lucky and the rich in San Jose. Do you know the way?

Ian Anderson, Clearwater, Florida, May 17th.
